There is no reason to panic when it comes to fuel prices; there is fuel at the stations and the refineries are working – emphasized Andrzej Domański, Minister of Finance and Economy. He added that the government is and will continue to analyze prices at gas stations.

On Wednesday, on TVN24, Minister of Finance and Economy Andrzej Domański was asked about fuel prices and whether there is any reason to panic about possible sudden movements on the market.
– We are analyzing the situation, I check oil prices many times every day, I am glad that they have stabilized. (…) There is certainly no reason to panic. There is fuel at the stations and the refineries are working, he added.

He noted that oil prices have dropped significantly in the last 48 hours. – On Monday morning, the price of a barrel was close to $118. Currently, it is around 87, so we see that the price has dropped significantly, but it is of course significantly higher than at the beginning of the year – said Domański. Noting that increases in oil prices may have consequences for inflation.
– We will analyze the situation on the fuel markets very carefully – emphasized Domański.
Since February 28, Israel and the US have been conducting airstrikes on Iran. Iran is shelling Israel and other Middle Eastern countries, hitting American military bases in the region as well as civilian infrastructure. The war in the Middle East has practically resulted in the closure of the Strait of Hormuz for sea traffic from the Persian Gulf, mainly supplies from Iran are allowed through. The almost complete stoppage of traffic caused export congestion.
Since Israel and the United States launched attacks on Iran, the price of oil around the world has skyrocketed. This was followed by significant increases in fuel prices at gas stations in Poland. (PAP)
