CFR Cluj won 11 matches in a row, the second longest winning streak in this century. Daniel Pancu's team is 6 wins away from the all-time record in Romanian football.

On December 7, CFR Cluj was able to declare itself lucky that it came out of “Ion Oblemenco” with a point. Craiova had abundantly dominated the direct match, but Otto Hindrich's miraculous interventions kept the balance on the table.

Since then, Daniel Pancu's team has reset. Transylvania won the next 11 championship matches, a series that took them to 4th place and brought them two steps away from tying the streak record this century.

CFR Cluj, two wins away from the longest series of successes since the Revolution

The longest winning streak remains with Dinamo, 13 in a row at the start of the 2006/2007 season, in which the “dogs” would win their most recent title. An interesting detail: even CFR Cluj stopped that series of Dynamo players, defeating them 2-1 in the 14th roundon November 5, 2006.

He stopped at exactly 11 victories in this century only FCSB: 8 at the end of the 2006/2007 season, the next 3 at the beginning of the 2007/2008 season.

To equal the record of this century, at the same time the record after the fall of communism, the Cherries must win in the first two stages of the play-offs. Their mission is not announced easy, because the first match will be on the field of local rival U. The second, at home with Rapid.

But the Transylvanians, especially because they are overflowing with confidence in this period, could look even further, to the all-time record of consecutive victories in the first league, since it has been carried out in the divisional system, that is, since 1932.

6 wins to the all-time record, shared by Steaua and Dinamo

In 1988, both Steaua and Dinamo won 17 matches in a row in the championship. Both superpowers started their series in round 32 of the 1987/1988 season, score 3-3, and ended it in round 15 of the following seasonwhen the direct match took place and they tied it “to peace”, 0-0, in Ștefan cel Mare.

In 87/88, Steaua won the title undefeated, one point ahead of Dinamo (64-63). A year later, the “military” defended their title still undefeated, finishing the championship with 3 points more than their great rival (65-62).
