War in the Middle East. Orlen reacts to the reduction of oil production


As we wrote, Saudi Arabia has begun to gradually reduce oil production, according to information provided by sources to Bloomberg. The decision is related to problems in the export of raw materials that occurred as a result of the almost complete blockage of the Strait of Hormuz.
Similar actions have already been taken by, among others, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Iraq.
On Monday, Reuters, citing two sources, reported that Saudi Aramco, a Saudi fuel and chemical company, began reducing production in its two oil fieldsafter the Strait of Hormuz was blocked by the Middle East war.
Orlen reacts to the reduction of oil production. “Supplies not at risk”
Answers to questions on this matter were provided to the Polish Press Agency by Orlen's press office.
“Oil supplies are delivered to Orlen's refineries according to schedule, and thanks to the diversification of supply directions, the company has reduced the risk related to the unstable situation in the Middle East.” – informs the company.
“Currently, oil deliveries are on schedule and are not at risk in any way. Orlen is constantly monitoring the development of the geopolitical situation in the Middle East and its potential impact on raw material markets and maritime transport routes,” said the company's press office in a response.

Orlen's representatives stated that the supply diversification strategy implemented by the Płock concern “significantly limits the company's exposure to the risk associated with instability in this region” and the supply structure “is based on directions that do not require transit through the Middle East region.”
“The company relies on a diversified portfolio of contracts, including long-term contracts, which ensures stability of commercial and logistic conditions. In the event of any potential disruptions, alternative supply directions will be launched,” Orlen said.
