The treasure hidden in the shadow of the Universe Palace. The statue house of Luigic Cazzavillan, the Italian with a Romanian heart and dear to Bucharest

A very remarkable house still lives today on Brezoianu street, near the grand Palat Universul, where the “Universul” newspaper, the creation of the Italian-born journalist Luigi Cazzavillan, had its headquarters.

The passer-by who does not raise his head, may not notice one of the most amazing facades in Bucharest.

The spectacular facade of Casa Cazzavillan, decorated with allegorical sculptures, was built after 1903 and still amazes today with its classical splendor.

The building on Brezoianu was built in the middle of the 19th century and housed the printing presses and printing machines on the ground floor, the floor being reserved for the editorial office and the office of Luigi Cazzavillan.

The facade of the house was embellished with allegorical characters after 1900.
