The Bureau of the Far Eastern Regional Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks adopted a resolution on the organization of regional newspapers in the Birsky, Smidovichsky, Stalinsky, and Blucherovsky districts of the Jewish Autonomous Region from April 1.

March 10, 1937

The newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” (12+) in the regular column “Around the City and Region” wrote that city skiing competitions would take place in Birobidzhan. Competitions are held with the aim of improving the quality of sports training in the GTO complex.

“The winners of individual distances will be awarded the title of Birobidzhan ski champion of 1937.”

The newspaper informed the population that a mother and child room had been opened at the station, which included playrooms and mothers' rooms and a children's bedroom.

The newspaper also wrote that the Birobidzhan city fire department conducts daily training in gas masks. Firefighters in gas masks lay a line 80 meters long and install a ladder with a barrel rising to the second floor. Along with all this, the team practices sleeping in gas masks every day.

In the newspaper “Birobidzhanskaya Zvezda” for March 10, 1963, on the front page, a message was published about the results of the elections to the regional Council of Workers' Deputies of the Jewish Autonomous Region. The regional election commission received information from the district about the election results. 99.93% of the total number of voters took part in the elections of deputies to the regional Council of Deputies. All elected deputies are candidates of the bloc of communists and non-partisans. Below is a list of deputies.

The pages of the newspaper provide examples of rationalization ideas. Among them, mechanic-adjuster of Lime track workshops V.P. Kipotnya, who proposed the reconstruction of the hydraulic jack. Working design drawings are currently being developed. Glazyrin, a carpenter at the Tunguska house-building plant, proposed special clamps for simultaneous grinding of eight legs. Now one worker processes as many parts in three hours as they previously processed per shift.

In the newspaper “Birobidzhanskaya Zvezda” on March 10, 1971, on the front page there was information that for their successes in socialist competition, Vladimir Ivanovich Kazakov, a blacksmith of the central electromechanical workshops of the Khinganolovo plant, and Mikhail Talkhovich Khamzin, a locomotive driver at the Obluchensky locomotive depot, were included on the Honor Board of the regional committee of the CPSU, regional executive committee, established in the newspapers “Birobidzhan Star” and “Birobidzhaner Stern” (12+).

Brief information: Vladimir Ivanovich Kazakov worked in the electromechanical workshops of the Khinganolovo plant for 24 years. Over the five-year period, he made eleven rationalization proposals. Vladimir Ivanovich – drummer of the Lenin labor shift, “Master of Golden Hands”, awarded a Certificate of Honor from the Ministry of Non-ferrous Metallurgy of the USSR.

Mikhail Talkhovich Khamzin increased the locomotive's inter-lift mileage by 39 thousand kilometers and saved 32 tons of standard fuel. Trained nine people to be drivers and assistant drivers.

In the newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” for March 10, 1981, on the last page it is written about the sporting achievements of athletes in the region.

The article “Sixteen-Year-Old Runner” by B. Gurevich tells that the final starts of the VII Winter Spartakiad of the Peoples of the RSFSR (6+) are taking place in Kemerovo. Sergei Korshunov, a student of the Birobidzhan Mechanical College, took part in these competitions. In 1980, Sergei fulfilled the standard for candidate master of sports at zonal youth competitions (6+). Sergei performed excellently in Khabarovsk at the regional youth speed running competition (6+). He won four distances and confidently took first place. There, in Khabarovsk, he won first place in the competition for the VII Winter Spartakiad (6+). He holds the Khabarovsk Territory records for young men at four distances.

The coach of the Dalselmash hockey team, I. Makarovsky, told readers about the team’s participation in the final tournament of the strongest teams of the first league of class “A” (6+), which took place in Irkutsk. The guys, unlike previous matches, played the match very collectedly.
