Anadolu Medical Center enters the top 250 hospitals, the best in the world, in a Newsweek ranking

Rated alongside more than 2,500 hospitals in 32 countries, Anadolu Medical Center secured a place on Newsweek's list of the world's best hospitals in 2026 – a reflection of two decades of clinical excellence and internationally accredited care.

Anadolu Medical Center (AMC) was named among the best hospitals in the world in 2026 by Newsweek – ranking in the global Top 250 out of more than 2,500 hospitals evaluated in 32 countries. The ranking, produced annually by Newsweek in partnership with research firm Statista, is based on recommendations from more than 85,000 healthcare professionals worldwide, hospital quality indicators, patient experience data and a survey of patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs). Of the thousands of institutions evaluated, only 250 receive a place on the world list.

Now in its eighth edition, the ranking has become one of the most consulted benchmarks in the field of international healthcare. For patients facing complex medical decisions across borders, a place on this list carries real weight – it signals that an institution meets standards recognized by both medical professionals and independent researchers around the world.

Where global standards meet patient-centered care

Founded in 2005 as a healthcare division of Anadolu Group, Anadolu Medical Center was established with an international mission: to provide world-class healthcare to patients around the world. Located on a 42-acre campus in Istanbul, just 15 minutes from Sabiha Gökçen Airport, the hospital offers convenient access for domestic and international patients.

AMC has 201 beds for continuous hospitalization, 37 intensive care beds, 8 operating rooms and a dedicated oncology center, covering more than 20 medical specialties. Of the hospital's total of 1,300 employees, 180 specialists are dedicated exclusively to international patient services — they coordinate medical care in 18 languages for patients from more than 65 countries. Thus, AMC hosts the largest international patient service team in Turkey and Europe.

Clinical excellence and global accreditation

Newsweek's recognition reflects a clinical and institutional foundation built over two decades. Several awards distinguish AMC in the international landscape:

  • Affiliation with Johns Hopkins Medicine — the first and only branch in Europe, ensuring continuous alignment with internationally recognized best practice in clinical care and patient safety.
  • JCI (Joint Commission International) accreditation — the globally recognized reference for hospital quality and patient safety standards.
  • OECI (Organization of European Cancer Institutes), ESMO (European Society of Medical Oncology) Designated Center, Planetree (Person-Centered Care) Gold and IASIOS (International Accreditation System for Interventional Oncology Services) accreditations — independently verified distinctions that place AMC among a select group of leaders in cancer care and patient experience worldwide.
  • Leader in radiation oncology: first hospital in its region to introduce CyberKnife (2005) and among the first five in the world to implement MR Linac technology.
  • Da Vinci XI robotic surgery in urology, thoracic, general, gynecological and cardiovascular surgery.
  • An exclusive partnership with the Mayo Clinic for advanced radionuclide therapy (Lu-177 and Ac-225).
  • A Comprehensive Oncology Center that provides diagnosis within 48-72 hours, weekly multidisciplinary tumor boards and comprehensive supportive care.

A track record that speaks for itself

Over twenty years, Anadolu Medical Center has built something that rankings can measure but cannot fully capture: a consistent care experience for patients who travel far from home to receive it. Thousands of patients from over 65 countries have made AMC their destination for diagnosis and treatment – often for complex or rare conditions where local options were limited.
