Spring cleaning in sector 4. Hundreds of workers and dozens of machines participate in a large action for sanitation
The City Hall of Sector 4 announced, on Monday, an extensive action for the necessary sanitation and repairs in the public space after the cold season. The campaign will take place in the next 45-50 days, the mayor's office announced.

“An extensive cleaning and local repair campaign regarding the urban public space related to Sector 4 of the Municipality of Bucharest started today and will take place, with all the equipment and workers available, in the next 45-50 days, so that all the unpleasant effects of the past winter are removed, and our community regains its usual status, that of the most well-kept sector in Bucharest”informed the City Hall of Sector 4 through a press release.
According to the cited source, several teams of the sanitation operator and the mayor's office are already in the field and are simultaneously working on the streets, sidewalks, parks, squares and green spaces, playgrounds and block gardens.
In total, more than 70 vans, meaning tankers equipped with pressure washing equipment, street sweeping and vacuum cleaners, dump trucks for collection, special trucks for tree cleaning, will be permanently available to the cleaning teams. At the same time, approximately 700 workers will intervene manually to wash the streets and boulevards, to clean the gutters and urban furniture.

“As every year, special attention will be paid to green spaces. For this, the teams will intervene both in the three parks under the administration of Sector 4, namely Lumea Copiilor Park, Orășelul Copiilor and Tudor Arghezi Park, as well as in all playgrounds and relaxation areas within the sector's radius. Promenade paths will be cleaned, trees will be cleaned, and urban furniture will be washed, repaired and even replaced where this is necessary absolutely necessary”the statement also states.
The city hall also announced that in the same period, several teams of builders are also at work and restoring the asphalt carpet where it is degraded as a result of the snow removal activities of last winter, so that road traffic can be carried out in conditions of maximum safety. This type of activity first takes place on the public thoroughfares on which public transport runs, and later it will also take place on secondary streets.

“As promised, once the temperatures allowed us, we began the work of restoring the asphalt carpet on most of the traffic arteries in Sector 4 in force. In parallel, we are not only repairing what was damaged during the last winter, but we are cleaning and sanitizing the public spaces that we manage, such as streets, sidewalks, pedestrian paths, playgrounds and parking lots. We insist on the gutter, there where the unpleasant traces of the rather hard winter that we went through are most noticeable, but we also continue to take care of the parks, block gardens and green spaces related to schools.
