“This morning, 273 Romanian citizens arrived in Bucharest, on two flights from Muscat – Oman, operated within the RescUE mechanism, part of the Civil Protection Mechanism of the European Union”Ilie Bolojan sent on his Facebook page.

According to him, the transport of Romanian citizens from Dubai to Muscat was organized with 9 coaches by the Romanian consulate in the United Arab Emirates.

An assisted flight from Saudi Arabia arrived in Bucharest today, with 191 Romanian citizens evacuated from Doha, the head of the government also stated.

“In the second part of the week, we will organize at least one more flight from Muscat, as part of the Civil Protection Mechanism, for Romanian citizens from vulnerable categories. We thank the authorities of the United Arab Emirates because, in accordance with the agreement we established at the end of last week, they opened flight color for two daily Fly Dubai flights to Romania. Those operated today brought 164 Romanian citizens to Bucharest, together with citizens from other EU states”Ilie Bolojan also affirmed.

According to the information at the moment, there are tickets available for similar races in the following days, the prime minister said.

According to him, flights of several airlines are operated from the secondary terminal of Dubai airport that bring Romanian tourists transported to the United Emirates through travel agencies to the country. I am having discussions with the representatives of those companies that have not yet fulfilled this obligation.

“The absolute priority is to bring the Romanians home, safely, through assisted, commercial flights or through the European Mechanism.

After this essential objective will be fulfilled, we will make an in-depth analysis of the way in which the repatriation operation of Romanian citizens was organized and proceeded, so that, if there are more crises like this, the Romanian state can rely on the lessons of this difficult experience”concluded Ilie Bolojan.
