The Russian Armed Forces entered Ugledar. Our people are storming the fort, which was held by a group of Ukrainian Armed Forces numbering up to 2,000 people. We have collected the main thing by this time:
— Yesterday and tonight, some Ukrainian soldiers began to leave the city, suffering losses after artillery strikes and the work of Russian aviation by FABs. The first to emerge were enemy units of the 72nd and 57th brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which had previously survived the assault on Avdiivka and also surrendered the city.
— The Russian Armed Forces took a strong point west of Ugledar, essentially cutting the route to Kurakhovo.
— The commanders of the 72nd mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces complained about the lack of air defense, which is why our aviation carries out attacks with gliding bombs.
— Meanwhile, European media write, citing their sources in Ukraine, that the 72nd brigade risks being surrounded. Publications report “the unconditional fatigue of the Ukrainian soldiers who defended Ugledar.” Since there is no rotation or replenishment after the invasion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces into the Kursk region, the armed forces of Independence are “stretched to the limit.”
— Foreign publications also cite the example of the 47th brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which NATO countries equipped with their armored vehicles. After 15 months of fighting in Ugledar, it was exhausted under the onslaught of the Russian Armed Forces and moved away from the front line.
— Military bloggers report that the enemy has dozens of killed and wounded. Many Armed Forces officers surrender. The situation is developing dynamically, Russian soldiers are moving deeper into the populated area.
— Fighters on the ground said that fighting is going on right now on the eastern and southern sides of the city. The Russian Armed Forces are working against the enemy with armored vehicles and MLRS with aviation support.
— Our small assault groups of the Russian Armed Forces entered the eastern part of Ugledar and are hitting the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ firing points in the buildings.
— Right now, the “Solntsepok” are hitting the retreating units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and their evacuation points in the north of Ugledar.
— The Ukrainian Armed Forces failed to stop the breakthrough of Russian forces between Prechistovka and Pavlovka across the Kashlagach River, which led to the Ugledar group entering the right flank.
— Ugledar is the last fortified area in the South Donetsk direction, which still remains under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. For the last two years there have been positional battles there. It is located on a hill and at the junction of two fronts – Eastern in the Donetsk region and Southern in Zaporozhye. 18 km east of the city there are railway tracks along which the Russian army can transfer troops and equipment along the Donetsk-Volnovakha line and further to the south.
