Art festivals to attend this spring

Five art festivals debut this spring in the United States, Australia and Europe and showcase the latest trends and emerging artists alongside established creators and creations.

Whitney Biennial

The Whitney Biennial takes place at the museum of the same name in New York, from March 8 to August 23, 2026.

And in 2026, the year that marks the 250th anniversary of the nation's founding, the event is a showcase of American art. The 82nd Whitney Biennial—the longest-running contemporary art exhibition in the United States—presents works by 56 artists, duos, and collectives that reflect the present moment and examine various forms of relationality, including interspecies bonds, familial relationships, geopolitical implications, technological affinities, shared mythologies, and infrastructural supports.
