The debut of Nicolae Stanciu (32 years old) at Dalian Yingbo was an agitated one. The Romanian team spectacularly lost the game in the first stage of the Chinese championship, 3-5, against Shanghai Shenhua.

Starting from the first official match after returning to China, Stanciu went through a difficult moment in the second half. The midfielder was hit hard by an opponent and was lying on the turf for a few moments, causing the concern of colleagues and staff. The captain of the Romanian national team needed the intervention of the medical team and temporarily left the field for treatment.
Although the contact was hard, the Romanian managed to get back into the game and took the game to the end. At the end of the meeting, Stanciu was close to being noticed on the scoreboard as well: he executed a dangerous free kick, but the ball he sent was rejected by the opposing goalkeeper.
