Ianis Zicu, angry with the players after Farul lost the match with Csikszereda: “I told them this all week”

Ianis Zicu, the coach of the Farul Constanța team, declared himself disappointed after the defeat suffered on the field of FK Csikszereda, score 0-1, in the 30th stage of the SuperLiga.

The only goal of the game was scored by Eppel ('71), and the hosts also missed a penalty, in the first half, through Paszka ('35).

“There's a lot to talk about at the moment, I wouldn't want to say things that maybe it's better to keep to myself. We lost a game that started in such a way that it looked like it could bring us a positive result.

Then came the missed penalty, then the goal in stoppage time. I think I told them all week that they are very good at set-pieces, probably the best in the league at this.

I'm just thinking about the next game, which is of utmost importance, we don't have to look beyond that. It's a crash, we're trying to find solutions. It's the third defeat in a row and unfortunately we haven't come out of this slump yet. This moment is an important one.

I don't care about absences, players don't have to have that alibi, but you can't win when you don't score. Disappointment is not the most important thing, but to realize what we have to do and do more in the game. When you go in angry and start the next match without confidence… the important thing is that we all give more.

Right now, I think the important players with more experience must be ahead of Rafael Munteanu (no goalkeeper). He has his future, but the important thing is that the players react in the next match. Many players experienced the same feeling last year, the difference in points is tiny, and, unfortunately, the season is very similar to the last one”, said Ianis Zicu, at Prima Sport, quoted by gsp.ro.

Following this result, Farul ends the regular season with 37 points and will enter the play-out with 19 (it will benefit from rounding). On the other hand, Csikszereda accumulated 32 points, so they will start the fight to avoid relegation with 16 points.
