A skier from Krasnoyarsk became a bronze medalist at the Paralympics

28 year old skier from Krasnoyarsk Alexey Bugaev brought the Russian team a second medal of the day at 2026 Paralympic Games Italy — the athlete won bronze in the downhill. RIA Novosti reports this.

Bugaev competed in class LW6/8-2 (damage to part of the arm). He covered the distance in 1 minute 18.40 seconds and took third placelosing to athletes from France and Switzerland.

Let us remind you that Alexey Bugaev is a true legend of Paralympic alpine skiing. The Krasnoyarsk resident has three victories at the Paralympic Games: the athlete won two gold medals at the Games in Sochi in 2014, and one in Pyeongchang in 2018. During his career, the athlete won the podium dozens of times at the World Cup and European Cup.

The opening ceremony of the 2026 Paralympics took place on March 6 in Verona, the competition will last until March 15. For the first time since 2014, Russian athletes will compete at the Games under their national flag, as the IPC General Assembly decided to fully restore the membership of the Russian Paralympic Committee.
