Three car loans were issued for a resident of Krasnoyarsk using leaked documents. The man's lawyer told about this story Mash.
The Krasnoyarsk resident found out about the debts only when they began to demand that he pay back 5 million rubles borrowed from banks in St. Petersburg.
During the investigation, it turned out that the scammers used scans of the passport, SNILS and driver’s license, correcting the photo in the documents. According to the defense, the scammers deliberately searched in the leaked databases for people similar to themselves with a clean credit history – such borrowers undergo a quick check at banks.
Three criminal cases are currently being considered in court. Mikhail has already managed to win two of them; the third one is still under investigation. Lawyers explained that databases are most often leaked by recruitment agencies. Finding the culprits is almost impossible, and the maximum they face is a fine.
