It's easier to complete formalities after work. Extended office hours

The change results from the regulation of the Prime Minister of April 17, 2025 on the rules for determining the weekly working time schedule and its duration on individual days of the week by heads of certain offices (Journal of Laws of 2025, item 512). It entered into force on April 26, 2025.
Last year's regulation in practice means that working hours in government administration offices are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. one day a week. The manager of a given unit decides on which days officials will accept visitors longer. On other days, the 8-hour working time rule still applies, but the office doors may be opened between: 7 to 10.
It should be clearly stated that the change resulting from the regulation applies only state offices, i.e tax offices, tax administration chambers, voivodeship offices, ministries, the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, commands, inspectorates and combined administration bodies in voivodeships.

The regulations do not cover local government offices, i.e. city and commune offices and town halls. These still operate on the basis of internal regulations and the Labor Code. This does not mean, however, that local government offices only operate until 4 p.m. Some of them, especially in large cities, voluntarily decide to extend working hours on one of the working days. Therefore, before going to the office, it is always worth checking when you can settle the matter later.
