Controls on the border with Germany. A dozen or so points in Lower Silesia


In connection with the decision of the Polish government on controls on the border with Germany, the inspections will be conducted in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship 17 points – announced the Lower Silesian Voivode Anna Żabska. In three towns: Jędrzychowice, Sieniawka and Zgorzelec will be permanent. Military patrols will appear in the others. Border controls will appear on July 7.
“Of course, inspections are carried out in order to protect the western border against illegal migrants. The main service responsible for organizing this operation is the Border Guard,” said the voivode of Lower Silesia.

She emphasized that the services would try to act in such a way that the conducted inspections are as low as possible for the inhabitants of the region. However, she did not rule out the possibility traffic problems, especially on the A4 motorwaywhich runs towards Zgorzelec.
Border guards from Lower Silesia will receive support for SG branches from other regions when securing the western border.
“This control will be conducted in the entrance direction from Germany to Poland. At the moment, very intensive preparations for this operation are underway,” said Major Małgorzata Dotot from the Border Guard Department of the Nadodrzański branch. The police are to help border guards.

On the section of the Polish-German border under the supervision of the SG Nadrodan branch, within six months of this year Border guards detained 900 people after refusing to enter Germany. At the same time, officers of this branch adopted about 240 people transferred by German services.

On Wednesday, a draft regulation on the temporary restoration of border control of persons crossing the state border constituting the internal border appeared on the pages of the Government Legislation Center. Pursuant to the provisions of the Regulation, the border control of persons will be restored from July 7, 2025 to August 5, 2025 at the state border with the Federal Republic of Germany and the Lithuanian Republic.
