However, they are there ways that speed up the transfer from the tax office. What to do to get a refund faster? More on that below.
The fastest way is online
The sooner a taxpayer settles his PIT for the previous year, the sooner he can expect a refund of the overpayment. Its date depends, among others, on: From forms of submitting a tax return. And yes, if you are settling your taxes via the Internet, then the tax office has a maximum amount to transfer funds 45 days. However, in the case of testimony in paper form the statutory deadline is 90 days.
So, in order to get your refund faster, we choose settlement online. 45 days are counted from the day following the date of submission of the document to the tax office. However, it must be emphasized that it is maximum deadline, however, thanks to automatic declaration acceptance systems, overpayments from e-declarations are usually transferred to taxpayers' accounts much faster. They come across them often already after a few days since submitting the statement.
Speed up thanks to the Large Family Card
Tax offices give priority to holders Large Family Cards (KRD). The tax authorities received guidelines for overpayments to large families first. In the case of KRD holders, offices have a shorter statutory deadline for tax refunds. It is 30 daysbut in practice, taxpayers get the money after 7-14 days.
AUTO RETURN streamlines the process
A solution that accelerates PIT and VAT overpayments is: AUTO RETURN system, i.e. automatic acceptance of returns. The declaration is passed through an algorithm – if the verification of the declaration is positive and there are no errors, the taxpayer can expect a transfer with a refund within a few days.
Automation covers VAT refunds and PIT overpayments up to the amount 5 thousand zloty from returns submitted via the Your e-PIT service. However, the taxpayer may not receive an immediate refund when: will make a mistake in the account number or when his or her spouse's or foster children's details are out of date. Therefore, it is always worth checking before shipping correctness of the data sent.
Watch out for arrears
It may happen that you have financial arrears (e.g. a ticket you received a long time ago that you have already forgotten about). Nothing can be hidden from the tax office – if you have such liabilities, the system will take them into account and reduce the overpayment due. Not only that, but you will also receive a smaller refund you'll get it later. Each deduction of the amount is associated with the extension of the process – in this case, additional time will be taken by the head of the tax office issuing the decisions on crediting the overpayment towards the debt.
