“People came to defend their jobs and the fact that they were lied to last year, when they were told that at least until August nothing would happen, plus they were also tired of the thanks that were given in December – January that the CEO workers saved the Romanian energy system. People are tired of the promises, they are tired of the thanks and actually now they are protesting to keep their jobs.

A plan came overnight where 1,476 employees are going to be fired, and you realize that this is creating a lot of discontent among all the employees. They are for a fixed period, but this fixed period is almost four years, we can no longer talk about people who have been working for three, six, nine months, most of them have been working for the company for more than three and a half years.

If the Romanian state still sacrificed this company and says that it takes a lot of money from the PNRR for the closure of this company, then people believe that it was normal to provide them with social protection and that a small part should have gone to you. From April 1 (the 1,476 fixed-term contracts expire no), they also found themselves a fantastic moment, before the Easter holidays, a moment full of cynicism, devoid of empathy. I think there are around 300 people protesting at the moment”said Gabriel Caldărușe.

According to the company's representatives, on February 25 the company had 7,788 employees, of which 1,945 were employees with fixed-term individual employment contracts and 5,841 with indefinite-term contracts.
