Eurovision Romania Grand Final: 12 artists, only one winner for the Austrian stage

The final of the national Eurovision selection is scheduled for Wednesday, March 4, from 20:00. The event will be broadcast live on TVR 1, TVR International, TVR Moldova, but also online, on the TVR+ platform. The competition will designate the artist and the song that will represent Romania at Eurovision, held this year in Austria, in Vienna.

Entry order of the pieces in the final

12 songs qualified in the race to represent Romania at Eurovision. 10 were chosen by the jury, and two received wild card following views on You Tube. The order in which they will enter the competition at the national final on March 4 is as follows:

  1. Emy Alupei – “Tili Bom”
  2. Robert Lukian – “Fire to the Lies”
  3. Vanu – “Therapy Enemy”
  4. Edward Maya x LavBbe x Costi – “Everybody Needs Somebody”
  5. Yguana – “Happy Birthday”
  6. HVNDS – “Longing”
  7. Antonio Pican – “Humans” (public wild card)
  8. WRS – “All The Way” (public wild card)
  9. Olivia Addams – “Crocodile”
  10. Monica Odagiu – “Window for a blind man”
  11. Alexandra Căpitănescu – “Choke Me”
  12. Alejandro Zandes & Emil Rengle – “Bailando Solo

How the winner will be decided

This year the winner will be decided exclusively by the jury. In previous years, the public also had a say and could vote for their favorites via SMS or online.

The jury that will decide who will represent Romania at Eurovision includes:

  • Andreea Bălan – performer (will also have a guest role in the finale)
  • Andrei Tudor – composer and musician
  • Marius Dia – composer and producer
  • Cristian Tarcea (Monoir) – producer and composer
  • Elena Popa – journalist and digital content creator, soloist of Yolo Band
  • Doru Ionescu – TVR journalist in the music field.
  • Cristian Marica Rădoi – editor-in-chief and music playlist manager at Radio Romania Cultural.

When will the Eurovision Song Contest take place?

The winner will go to Vienna, where the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 will be held. It is the 70th edition of the contest. The program of the event is divided as follows:

  • Semi-final 1: May 12
  • Semi-final 2: May 14
  • Grand final: May 16.

This year, Spain, Ireland, Iceland, the Netherlands and Slovenia announced that they would not participate in the contest, in protest of the EBU's decision to allow Israel to enter the contest, in the context of the war in the Gaza Strip.
