Despite rumors that Al Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo (41) had left Saudi Arabia due to Iran's bombings, the Portuguese star did not do so and remained in the country to recover from an injury.

Cristiano Ronaldo has suffered a thigh muscle injury and will be out for a while, Al Nassr announced on Tuesday. CR7 played 81 minutes in the weekend's 3-1 win at Al Fayha.

The Portuguese missed a shot from 11 meters and was replaced by Al Hamdan. Ronaldo left the field limping, and on Tuesday came the doctors' verdict.

Cristiano Ronaldo is injured and will be unavailable for some time

“The recovery program has begun and will be assessed daily,” officials told Al Nassr. Shortly after the change, TV cameras caught him on the bench with an ice pack applied to his right thigh.

Coach Jorge Jesus tried to clarify the whole situation at the end of the game: “He felt muscle fatigue. After making it 2-1, I didn't want to risk it and changed him. The medical department will evaluate his condition, but it was just muscle fatigue“.

Ronaldo had a complicated match. He missed a penalty and did not score from action. Even in this context, Al Nassr won 3-1 and consolidated its first place in Saudi Arabia with 61 points.

Al Ahli and Al-Hilal, the main chasers, are 2 and 3 points away respectively. It remains to be seen if Ronaldo will miss any matches.

Al Nassr confirmed that the Asian Champions League 2 quarter-final match scheduled for March 4 against Al Wasl has been postponed indefinitely due to the military conflict in the region.

Al Nassr's next match is scheduled for Saturday, in the championship, against Neom.
