Iran attacked at least six US military installations in the Middle East – NYT

The media analyzed satellite images, released videos and statements by American military officials.

During February 28–March 1, Iran attacked targets in Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq and the United Arab Emirates.

In Kuwait, during an attack on the Arifjan base, three soldiers were killed and five more were seriously injured, writes NYT. The Ali Al-Salem airbase was also damaged (the roofs of several buildings collapsed) and the Buering base (a drone exploded on the territory).

CNN wrote about six American servicemen killed as a result of a strike on an improvised operations center in Kuwait, which was located on the territory of the port of Al-Shuaiba.

In Bahrain, Iran struck the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, destroying several buildings. According to the NYT, there appeared to be virtually no warships in the port at the time of the attack.

Analysis of the images showed that two satellite communication terminals were destroyed, the media indicates.

Also, The Washington Post, citing a report from the US State Department, reported that two US Department of Defense employees were injured during an Iranian drone strike on a hotel in Bahrain.

In Iraq, as the NYT writes, a military base located on the territory of the international airport in Erbil came under attack. American troops are stationed there.

In the UAE, a satellite recorded smoke above a building in the Jebel Ali port in Dubai, which is used by the US Navy as a rest area.

According to the NYT, it is unknown how many missiles and drones Iran launched at these facilities, but the consequences of the attacks raise questions about the ability to protect them from future attacks.
