Tensions in the Middle East. Gaz-System ensures
“Due to the geopolitical situation in the Middle East, we would like to inform you that the national natural gas transmission system operates stably and the security of supplies of this raw material to Poland remains fully secured.“, the operator said in a statement.
The company emphasized that Polish transmission and regasification infrastructure is prepared to receive gas supplies from any direction in the world. Diversification is ensured by interconnections with EU countries, the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline and the LNG Terminal in Świnoujście.
The terminal covers a significant part of domestic demand and accepts LNG deliveries from around the world, which – as noted – ensures operational flexibility in the event of a change in supply directions.
Gaz-System also reported that the infrastructure operates continuously and uninterrupted, and the level of filling of national gas storage facilities is currently approximately 50%. — which, as indicated, is a high level for the final phase of the heating season and places Poland among the European leaders. The company monitors the international situation and remains in constant cooperation with market participants.

“Ensuring the stability and continuity of gas supplies remains the top priority of Gaz-System,” it was emphasized.
US attack on Iran. Tankers stopped in front of the Strait of Hormuz
Meanwhile – as Reuters reported, citing data from the MarineTraffic platform – at least 150 tankers, including vessels carrying crude oil and LNG, were stranded in the Persian Gulf following Saturday's US and Israeli attack on Iran and Tehran's warnings about shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. There are also several dozen ships waiting on the other side of the strait.
In the Persian Gulf, tankers gather off the coast of major oil producers, including: Iraq and Saudi Arabia, as well as the LNG exporter Qatar.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard reported that Ships in the Persian Gulf are prohibited from passing through the strait, which is under Iran's jurisdiction.. In turn, Bloomberg reported that shipowners are exercising extreme caution, and numerous vessels are gathering both at the entrance and exit from Hormuz.
The Strait of Hormuz is considered a key hub for global energy trade, with between one-fifth and one-third of global maritime oil transport and a significant portion of natural gas transport passing through it every day. It is the only sea export route for oil from Iran, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait and Iraq.
Gaz-System, 100 percent owned by the State Treasury, is responsible for the transmission of natural gas in Poland and manages key gas infrastructure, including the LNG terminal in Świnoujście. The company also serves as the operator of the hydrogen transmission system.
