Iran's response to the attacks launched by the US and Israel has begun to take its toll, in Israel and in the Arab states of the region, according to official data cited by Reuters and Israeli publications.

An Iranian rocket killed eight people and wounded more than 20 in Beit Shemesh, near Jerusalem, in the latest attack on Sunday, police said, quoted by the Jerusalem Post.

The rocket hit a residential area in Beit Shemesh, causing extensive damage to a bomb shelter and surrounding homes.

A second impact was recorded in central Israel.

About 30 ambulances were sent to the scene, while the IDF said the rescue and recovery forces of the Home Front Command, along with numerous medical teams and a helicopter to evacuate the wounded, were operating at the scene.

Three dead in UAE, one in Kuwait

The Ministry of Defense of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) also announced on Sunday that three people were killed and 58 slightly injured following Iranian attacks on the country's territory.

The people killed are citizens of Nepal, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Officials said 167 missiles and 541 drones were fired at the UAE, most of which were intercepted and destroyed, while 35 crashed inside the country and caused material damage.

Kuwait's Ministry of Health announced in turn that one person died and 32 were injured following Iranian attacks on this state.

Waves of Iranian attacks

Tehran has responded in the past two days to the attacks launched on Saturday morning by the US and Israel.

Iran has launched a wave of missile and drone attacks across the region, with explosions reported in Israel and Gulf states including the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Bahrain.

Airspace was closed in several countries, including Iran, Iraq, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, causing widespread disruption to international flights.
