The number of personnel at the headquarters of the US 5th Fleet in Bahrain has been reduced due to possible US attacks on Iran, Fox News reported on Thursday, citing US officials.

Fewer than 100 staff members currently remain on site. As the station emphasized, its numbers were limited to the level necessary for the functioning of the mission.
Fox News recalled that a similar evacuation was carried out before last year's American operation Midnight Hammer, during which US troops attacked Iranian nuclear installations.
Reports on the evacuation of personnel from Bahrain emerged against the backdrop of negotiations between the US and Iran on the Iranian nuclear program taking place on Thursday in Geneva.
US President Donald Trump confirmed last week that he was considering a limited attack on Iran. However, he emphasizes that he would still prefer a diplomatic solution.
Iran announced retaliation in the event of a US strike. This could put 30-40 thousand people at particular risk. American soldiers stationed in 13 military bases in the Middle East.
