What does Zelensky say about Russia's readiness for peace?

Zelensky announced after the meeting of the Ukrainian and US delegations in Geneva on Thursday that he had talked several times with his envoys, chief Ukrainian negotiator Rustem Umerov and Davyd Arakhamiya, head of the parliamentary faction of the Servant of the People party, as well as with American envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

— Finalize everything achieved in terms of real security guarantees and prepare for a leadership meeting. It is this format that can make a lot of difference. Ultimately, it is the leaders who decide on key issues, and when it comes to Russia, with such a personal regime, it is much more important than in other countries, he emphasized.

Zelensky: Russia will stop the war itself

The President of Ukraine said that “not everyone currently sees that Russia is not ready for peace and there are no signs that (Russian leader Vladimir) Putin is stopping his war machine.”

— On the contrary, it is preparing for further war and the world should be ready to put pressure on Russia to change this. The recipe is understandable to everyone in the world. Russia will stop the war on its own, of its own volition, when the world finally stops Russian oil, other Russian energy resources, and Russian banks. This is completely real. The world's sanctions should influence this – towards real, lasting peace, Zelensky said.

Earlier, Umerov, who is the secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, informed that together with the government's economic team, he worked during the talks in Geneva on the “prosperity package”, i.e. mechanisms for economic support and reconstruction of Ukraine as well as instruments for attracting investments and long-term cooperation.
