The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, held a Romanian speech on Wednesday night, in Chisinau, where he and the leaders in Germany and Poland met with President Maia Sandu and participated in the festivities organized on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Moldova.
“Good evening, Chisinau! Good evening, dear Moldovan friends! I am very happy to be tonight, with Friedrich Merz and Donald Tusk, along with Maia Sandu and you all, together, to celebrate the National Day of the Republic of Moldova. Due to you, this evening, the heart of Europe, Democracy and justice, ”said the president of France, in Romanian, from the stage in Chisinau.
“You can count on our support”
Macron said that “the Republic of Moldova can be proud of the path of independence and can trust its European destiny and future.”
“You already belong to the European family and you can count on our support and respect for Europe.
He stressed that “our European Union will be stronger with Moldova, and Moldova will be, in Europe, stronger and more prosperous.”
“Together we will write a new chapter in the history of Moldova and Europe. For this reason, we are today with you and the president Maia Sandu, who fights from day, with much courage, for an independent, strong, democratic and anchored Moldovan. French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk met with President Maia Sandu, Wednesday, in Chisinau, and sent a firm support for the Republic of Moldova and its European path.
“The presence of European National Day leaders represents a strong signal of friendship and respect for our people, but also a clear confirmation that the European road of the Republic of Moldova is not a distant dream, but a common project, in the process of development,” said the Chisinau Presidential Administration in a press release.
