The En+ company, together with the regional Swimming Federation of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, supported Alexander Popov’s visit to the Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric power station and organized a meeting of the Olympic champion with students of the Divnogorsk Olympic Reserve College, students of gymnasium No. 10, as well as station employees.
Alexander Vladimirovich Popov is a legendary Russian athlete, four-time Olympic champion, six-time world champion, 21-time European swimming champion.
The famous athlete arrived in Divnogorsk in the company of other titled swimmers. Together with him, Svetlana Petrachina, Honored Master of Sports in synchronized swimming, world champion, champion of Russia, visited the Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric station; Sergey Malyshev – master of sports of Russia, European champion, multiple champion of Russia, in swimming; Alexander Spirin – master of sports of Russia, world champion among workers, multiple champion of Russia; Sergey Mozgovoy is a master of sports of Russia.
First of all, Alexander Popov and his colleagues talked with station employees, as well as specially invited young Divnogorsk athletes and students of one of the gymnasiums. The meeting was held in a warm atmosphere and ended with a group photo and autograph session, after which the station guests were given a tour of the famous Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric power station – the second largest hydroelectric power station in Russia and one of the 10 largest hydroelectric power stations in the world.
“I am very glad that I had the opportunity to see the Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric power station from the inside. This scale and power of engineering is amazing. It is here that you especially realize the greatness of our people, who were able to tame the mighty Yenisei and build one of the most powerful hydroelectric power plants in the world,” noted Alexander Popov.
The management of the Divnogorsk Olympic Reserve College and Gymnasium No. 10 accepted with great interest the offer to participate in a meeting with the sports legend, and this day became truly special for the children.
“Today the guys had a dream come true – they talked live with Alexander Popov. For children, this is not just a memorable event, but a powerful incentive for new sporting achievements. We thank the Krasnoyarsk hydroelectric power station for its contribution to the education of the younger generation,” said Yulia Marchenkova, deputy director for sports work at the Divnogorsk Olympic Reserve College.
En+ company actively supports the development of sports in cities of responsibility and creates conditions for an active lifestyle for employees and residents. Thus, in 2025, in Divnogorsk, with the support of En+, the first stage of major renovation of the sports school swimming pool in the House of Children's Creativity was completed.
