Once a leader in the Super League and one of the feared teams in the championship, FC Botoșani is unrecognizable in the last matches of the regular season. And the match in Sibiu was the third defeat in a row.

With mathematical chances in the play-off before this match, Leo Grozavu's team was defeated without appeal in Sibiu, by a Hermansntadt that showed the first signs of life after four defeats in a row.
