A 63-year-old Krasnoyarsk woman violated traffic rules and fell under the wheels of a car, the traffic police said.
The accident happened the previous morning on Maerchak Street. Taking a shortcut, the woman decided not to walk some 10 meters to the pedestrian crossing and began crossing the road in the wrong place. At that moment, she was hit by a Toyota car driven by a 56-year-old driver. Judging by the footage from the surveillance camera, the blow was quite strong.
The police reported that there were no fatal consequences – as a result of the collision, the woman was injured and was taken to a medical facility.
State traffic inspectors also reminded all road users of strict adherence to traffic rules: “Pedestrians, cross the road only at the zebra crossing! Remember: if you take a shortcut, you shorten your life. Drivers, slow down early! Be attentive to each other so that this day does not become the last in someone’s life.”
