Florentina Olar spoke about the emotions of retiring from the national team, about the message of the documentary, but also about how she continued her career after becoming a mother.

“As the protagonist, I feel good now. There are some special emotions and this also came as a crowning of my career.

I ended my career with the national team last year, after 23 years and 201 matches. The retreat took place in Constanța, my hometown. We scored and won in the farewell match. It was a wonderful ending and I am very grateful for this moment”, said Olar, in dialogue with GSP.ro.

During my career, I encountered prejudices such as “Go to the pot” or “Come on, I bet on you!”, but we proved that we are not fragile or theatrical in duels. Things have improved and now we enjoy the audience, the energy of the kids and we hope to open doors for girls who want to play sports.

Cristiana Oprea feels honored to be the protagonist in the documentary “Princess Warrior”, especially since she grew up in rally without female role models.

You can make a career out of any sport, even if it seems masculine, this is the message of the documentary. I feel like a warrior when I wear my suit, I am 100% focused on piloting and I love this sport very much“, said Oprea, for GSP.ro

You have to have fighting spirit as a woman in sports. We still run into stereotypes and prejudices, but we try to dismantle them by showing that it can be done. We still have a long way to go, but we are on the right track.
