Almost 300 companies on the new sanctions list. An important decision by Great Britain


Tuesday marks the fourth anniversary of the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. On that day, Great Britain decided on the largest sanctions package ever. They include, among others: PJSC Transneft – one of the world's largest pipeline operators, responsible for over 80 percent Russian oil exports. In a statement, the government expressed hope that this would further limit Russia's ability to bypass the embargo on Russian oil.

The new sanctions list also includes 49 entities and individuals involved in maintaining the Russian war machine, including international suppliers supplying necessary goods, components and technologies for Russian drones and other types of weapons. There are, among others: three civilian nuclear energy companies, six entities from the Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) sector, including ships, commercial companies and the Russian Portovaya and Vysotsk terminals responsible for the export of Russian LNG, and nine Russian bankswhich process cross-border payments that are crucial to Russia's attempts to maintain access to international markets.

“Russia is ending the fourth year of an invasion that Putin said would last three days. While the Kremlin continues its barbaric attacks on innocent civilians as they endure the most brutal winter in a decade, the courage and determination of the Ukrainian people continue unabated. […] We will continue to support the Ukrainian people and defend the security of Europe – Ukraine's security is our security,” wrote British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper, who, like many other leading Western politicians, traveled to Kiev on Tuesday.
Since the beginning of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, over 3,000 have been added to the British sanctions list. individuals, companies, institutions and ships.
