The legendary striker from Dinamo named the #1 reason for the failure with Rapid: “I didn't really succeed”

Author of some legendary goals in the history of Dinamo, with Hamburg, Inter and Liverpool, Costel Orac is of the opinion that the formation of Ștefan Cel Mare would have needed a “tip” to defeat Rapid.

Costel Orac: “Last night's pitch slowed down possession and we didn't quite manage to surprise those from Rapid”

“It was a balanced match and I expected this due to the fact that the pitch was as it was, in more difficult conditions for both teams, but especially for us, for Dinamo.

Our team is used to extended possession. Unfortunately, in my opinion, last night's pitch slowed down possession and we didn't really manage to surprise the Rapid team.

If he was physically available and had the rhythm of the game, which is not the case, surely Pušcaș might have been useful. I've been saying for a long time that we need a box striker that, unfortunately, the management and the coach have not been able to find until now”, said Costel Orac, for GSP.ro.

Costel Orac: “Pušcaș didn't impress me at the national team, but I think he can handle it in our championship”

Costel Orac, semi-finalist in the European Champions Cup, continued on the subject of George Pușcaș, the striker who reached an agreement with Dinamo and would sign soon.

“To be honest, I'm not… me at least, even when he was playing for the national team I wasn't really impressed by Pușcaș, but if we're realistic and recognize the fact that our championship is still not a very strong oneI think he can do well. And I hope he will do well and help us, Dinamo.

Of course, in the situation in which he will come, that I see that things are still not evolving, he has not yet decided. I don't know the details in this sense, but it's clear that, as I've said for about two or three months, even better, we need a box striker”, said the Dinamo legend.

Costel Orac: “I don't see why they would be affected”

Asked by the GSP reporter if Dinamo's morale could be affected by the failure with Rapid, Orac answered:

“I don't see why it would have affected the morale of the team, because they are two teams of similar values. They also beat us in the tour. For now, we are in the goal that both the management and the players, coaches and all the technical staff proposed, namely access to the play-offs.

The team is coming off a very good period and, as you know very well, you can't win all the time, regardless of the value of the opponent. So I don't see why they would be affected.”

Costel Orac: “Rapid is a well-organized team”

The former striker also made a brief characterization of the rival from Giulesti, who defeated Dinamo round-robin in the regular season. The two will also face each other in the play-off.

Rapid is a team that hasn't really had results lately. They were also, so to speak, thinkers, they didn't understand why they didn't get the results they expected. It's still a well-organized team, a hardworking team, a team with several valuable players who can make a difference and, last but not least, with a coach who knows Romanian football very well and is one of the most balanced coaches in our championship.

Costel Orac: “Musi, Cîrjan, Soro can make the difference at Dinamo”

“Dinamo has a constant game, a balanced game, as I said before, and certainly, in certain conditions, in one game or another one, two, three players stand out who, in general, can make the difference.

And here I'm referring to Musi, I'm referring to Cîrjan, not least Soro, recently Opruț appeared, totally surprisingly, who scores on the conveyor belt. Unfortunately his goal last night didn't help us much, but for him and for the team it matters a lot.

I repeat, I strongly believe that if the playing surface had been in normal conditions, last night's game would have looked different, both for us and for those from Rapid, in the sense that we would have seen a more dynamic, faster game and probably with more goal opportunities”, added Orac.
