Alin Roman (32 years old), the number 1 passer of the Superliga, with 11 assists this season, is convinced that the arbitrations are intended to favor the giants' entry into the play-offs. The midfielder from UTA also responds to Gigi Becali, after his statements in the perspective of the direct match.
Today, UTA led 2-0 in Galatibut left Oțelului court with only one point, being tied. Alin Roman, who recorded his 11th decisive assist this season, commented on the game.
Alin Roman is convinced: “Yes, we shoot for the big teams”
“I don't think we deserved to lose (no – to lose points). We have far too many chances to score, but we are not pragmatic at all. We had 2-0, we could close the match many times. I knew it was a dangerous score. They came back, it was a morale gap, very important for them. I say that I also had a penalty towards the end.
I am a creative player. And last match (no – at 2-1 with Botoșani) if I had 3 assists, no one was upset. I am a creative player, Mr. Mihalcea gave me the confidence I need and I enjoy football. It's a shame we didn't achieve more as a team, although we are far above expectations. We wanted a lot, others don't want us where we should be”, he said in the first phase.
Then asked if he thinks he's “shooting for the big teams?”he replied:
“Honestly, yes. Through arbitration, yes. It's been wrong against us so many times. Plus the canceled goal against U Cluj. They should have solved the phase in 5 seconds, but they took a goal away from us. Otherwise, I don't think those from U would have returned.
There were more, but it doesn't matter anymore. We play our chances. I never said that we fight in the play-offs, but that we have to take the matches step by step, each one separately”.
Alin Roman: “We saw what Mr. Becali said. We hope to prove the opposite”
And he wanted to answer Gigi Becali, the boss of FCSB, in the context of the imminent duel that the two teams will have on March 1:
“Next Sunday we have an equally important match against FCSB. I saw that Mr. Becali said that we are a weak team. 3 weeks ago he was watching us in the play-offs with his team. We hope to prove him otherwise. It won't be easy for them [la Arad]“.
I say I had a penalty [în faza din final]. I touched the ball, I was in the foreground. He says he didn't touch me? To watch the replays! I don't know how to simulate, I've never simulated. I don't even do much fouling. I was the first to the ball, I hit it, then he came and it was as if he reaped me.
From my point of view, it was a penalty. I only asked the referee to check, that's all. Anyway, there are referees in the country who simply chop you upwith fouls and all kinds of stuff. I have six yellows, I didn't allow myself to have too many dialogues with the referee today.
I'm too young to talk about it, I try to be as calm as possible, to play as many matches as possible. With too many yellows I sit on the sidelines and I don't want that.
