There is one old riddle from the USSR associated with a woman’s name, which for many years has baffled even the most resourceful. Although her solution is striking in its simplicity. Try to solve it together with the information agency EAOMedia.
The riddle goes like this: “Which female name is thirty me?”
The secret of the puzzle is not in the number of letters, but in how we read it. The solution is based on a play on words and visual perception.
The correct answer is the name Zoya. It’s all very simple: if you write down the number “30” and put the letter “I” next to it, you get “30Ya”, which reads “Zoe”.
Previously, the name Zoya was not common, but after the October Revolution it began to be given much more often. According to philologist A. Ya. Shaikevich, by 1920 Zoya was one of the ten most popular female names in the Soviet Union.
