Trump's son-in-law gets a position in the White House that didn't exist before

Trump noted Kushner's role in the new diplomatic agreements in the Middle East (the Abraham Accords) and emphasized that no one else could have achieved such success.

“You're a smart guy. We're also appointing him as a special envoy for peace. I'll tell you, look at these two guys – at least from an intellectual standpoint, we're covered,” Trump said, also referring to Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff.

Politico noted that the position was created specifically for Kushner; it did not exist before.

Context

Kushner served as a senior adviser during Trump's first term and actively promoted the normalization of relations between Israel and several Arab countries, Politico notes. Together with Witkoff, he continued to work during Trump’s second term, dealing with negotiations in the Middle East and issues of resolving the war that was started in Ukraine by the aggressor country of the Russian Federation.
