The Central Commission of Referees decided the delegation for the derby between Rapid Bucharest and Dinamo Bucharest, scheduled for Saturday evening, from 20:30, at the National Arena, in the 28th stage of the Super League. In the center will be Rareș Vidican, in his 14th match in the current season.

Referee in the Super League since 2022, when he made his debut in the match between UTA Arad and Academica Clinceni, Vidican, from Satu Mare, also officiated a Rapid – Dinamo derby almost a year ago, on April 6, 2025, a match won by the Giulești side. It was then the first Bucharest derby refereed by “central”.

The last match officiated by him was the Cluj derby, CFR Cluj – Universitatea Cluj 3-2, a game that degenerated at the end.

Immediately after the final whistle, Cristiano Bergodi, visibly nervous, jumped towards Andrei Cordea. The technician claimed that he was cursed by the footballer, while Cordea claimed that the insults were directed at Dan Nistor. Bergodi later stated that he did not mean to hit the player, but merely “put his hand on the back of his head”.

Vidican also refereed an international match this season, between Dudelange and Escaldesin the first round of the UEFA Conference League, the game ended with the score 2-3, the Romanian giving 5 yellow cards.
