The captain of the ship “Boracay”, the Russian oil from the “ghost fleet”, will be tried in France. Putin accuses France of piracy and threatens with consequences

The captain of the Boracay oil, detained off the coasts of France, will be tried in February, being accused of not cooperating with the authorities. The ship is suspected of being part of Russia's “ghost fleet”, used to transport crude oil by avoiding Western sanctions.

French President Emmanuel Macron said that, although he cannot confirm a clear connection, the ship would have been involved in incidents with drones that closed airports in Denmark, according to TheGuardian.
The two Chinese crew members were released, but the captain will be tried in Brest on February 23, risky up to one year in prison and a fine of 150,000 euros.
The oil transport transports 750,000 bars of oil from Russia to India when it was intercepted by the French navy and directed to Saint-Nazaire.
Macron stressed that “30-40% of Russia's war effort is funded by the revenues of the ghost fleet ” and that actions like this “I kill the business model of these ships.”
Russian President Vladimir Putin denounced the action right “piracy” and warned that it could cause international confrontations.
