Among the victims: dozens of people. They all ate Giselle and experienced bloating, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Ingredients: the same maltitol syrup and maltitol. And the sweets are made at the same factory in Dmitrov, near Moscow, where the “Classic” from “Vkusville” is. Hundreds of Russians were poisoned by it.
We wrote that previously victims told how even medications did not help with pain after eating sweets. People speculated that it was due to maltitol, a starch alcohol used as a sugar substitute and sweetener. This substance and other sugar alcohols have a laxative effect and cause diarrhea. Later, Vkusville withdrew the marshmallows from sale and declared that it was not guilty. In total, over the past four months, the store has received 32 complaints about the quality of marshmallows.
