Virginia Roberts Giuffre is one of Epstein's victims

In August 2021, Giuffre filed a civil lawsuit against then-Prince Andrew in a New York court. She claimed that in 2001, when she was 17, she was sexually assaulted by him three times. Giuffre, then with her maiden name of Roberts, was one of a large group of girls who were lured by Epstein with promises of work and then offered to his influential friends. One of them was supposed to be Prince Andrew.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor denied knowing Giuffre

King Charles III's younger brother, now known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, has consistently denied this. However, after an interview given to the BBC on this matter, in which he vaguely explained his acquaintance with Epstein and denied having ever met Giuffre, his decline began. First, he resigned as a member of the royal family, and last year he was stripped of all his titles.

Thames Valley Regional Police announced on Thursday the arrest of a Norfolk man in his 60s. Although the officers did not reveal their personal details, the British media reported that it was the former prince, the younger brother of King Charles III.

The police statement says that Andrzej was arrested on suspicion of abuse of public office, which suggests that the reason is the suspicion of providing Epstein with confidential information during his time as Britain's special envoy for trade, rather than moral issues.

There was no trial in connection with the lawsuit filed by Giuffre, as the parties reached a settlement in February 2022. British media reported at the time that Giuffre received at least £12 million in exchange for withdrawing the lawsuit. Giuffre committed suicide last April.
