The move comes on the back of the impeccable course of the last stages and represents a clear signal of stability for the technical bank from Gruia.
Pancu took over the team on October 30, signing a six-month deal until the end of the current season. The deal included an automatic extension clause, conditional on the achievement of sporting goals.
However, the leadership of Transylvania no longer wants to wait for the verdict of the season, having been conquered by the former Latineret coach.
Sources inside the club claim that Ioan Varga told his collaborators that he wants the new contract to be initialed as quickly as possible.
According to gsp.ro, CFR Cluj is preparing a new agreement for Pancu that would cover the 2027–2028 and 2028–2029 seasons, with financial clauses and consistent bonuses linked to results.
The owner of the club confirmed the information. “I am extremely glad that I chose Pancu! He does an amazing job. I want to extend his contract from now on, without waiting to see if he meets the goals.
In the summer we strengthen the team even more and fight for the title right from the start! I want to have Pancu at CFR from next season as well!“, declared Ioan Varga.
