Lenin Street will be improved this year in Kansk.
The Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Krasnoyarsk Territory said: that the project to transform this street won the All-Russian competition for the best projects for the improvement of small towns and historical settlements of the national project “Infrastructure for life.”
The street improvement area will be about 2 hectares – from the station square to N.I. Square. Korostelev, including Cathedral Square.
When developing architectural solutions, the creators of the project emphasized the main milestones in the history of Kansk. Walking excursion and walking routes will run along Lenin Street along the Spassky Cathedral, ancient buildings of the Cinema Museum, the Treasury, a tobacco factory, shopping arcades, a monument to the Cossack founders of the city and other remarkable places.
The square near Gadalovsky Rows will become an open-air museum dedicated to the merchant past of Kansk. An arch-pergola with historical stands, street furniture and decorative elements will reveal the appearance of the old city, and landscaping will create comfort for relaxation. Cathedral Square will become a venue for city events. The structure of the alleys is being transformed to create clear spaces that are comfortable for walking.
“The result of the implementation of this project will be the emergence of high-quality pedestrian infrastructure in the center of Kansk. New outdoor furniture, park lighting and additional landscaping will give the space a modern feel. Active citizens took part in the design, offering their ideas, including children presenting their creative works, and some of them were accepted by the designers. In particular, an art object “Kan scientist cat”, made using artistic bronze casting, a thematic bench based on children’s sketches, a mini-kindergarten and an outdoor gallery will appear near the cultural center. This will be another highlight of the project,” noted Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the region Irina Kotelnikova.
In total, since 2019, thanks to the victories of regional projects in the All-Russian competition, 22 large landscaped areas have appeared in Yeniseisk, Nazarovo, Zaozerny, Kansk, Kodinsk, Borodino, Zelenogorsk, Divnogorsk, Uzhur, Zheleznogorsk, Sosnovoborsk, Sharypovo, Ilansky.
IN 2026 year, in addition to Kansk, the winning projects Also implement in Minusinsk and Norilsk.
