The refereeing scandal from the match between FC Argeș and Petrolul (1-2) enter another dimension. While Daniel Stanciu, an official of Pitesti, threatened with an unprecedented protest at the next home match, the one with Farul, a deputy from Argeș, affiliated to the AUR party, spoke on Monday, February 16, in the Romanian Parliament.

Deputy Bogdan AUR Velcescu declared, from the rostrum of the Parliament, that “in a normal world, the politician has nothing to look for in sports”, criticizing alleged “behind the scenes games” that would affect the FC Argeș club.

The referee's mistake that deprived FC Argeș of three points reached the plenary session of the Parliament. Deputy Bogdan Velcescu, 36 years old, elected in the Argeș constituency in the 2024-2028 legislature from the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR), spoke in the last parliamentary session, requesting clarifications and the application of emergency measures following what happened on Friday.

“I take advantage of your attention in these moments to express my displeasure and, if you want, a form of protest over what happened at the FC Argeș – Petrolul match. If the FRF came to say that the result was flawed, I don't understand why no measures are taken, I don't understand why we look at these aspects for so long. We, the people of Arges, will not allow ourselves to be trampled on by all those who play various games in Bucharest.

I hope it will not be necessary to move on to other forms of protest. Thanks for your time! ” was the message delivered by Bogdan Velcescu, from the rostrum of the Parliament.

Velcescu also holds the position of quaestor of the Chamber of Deputies, that is, he is part of the administrative leadership of the legislative forum.

He returned with a new message: “A piece of the Argesian soul is being trampled on!”

Later, Velcescu reinforced his gesture with a message published on his social media platforms:

“In a normal world, the politician has nothing to look for in sports… However, there are certain moments when we must make a common front, especially when a piece of Argesian soul is trampled on. I'm tired of seeing how behind-the-scenes games are played out for everyone in the Capital.

Who are you to allow this?! Today it's about FC Argeș, tomorrow about the budget and other days about “priorities”… that's enough! All for Argeș!”, was the message delivered by Bogdan Velcescu, from the rostrum of the Parliament.

Radu Petrescu triggered a monster scandal in Romanian football

Radu Petrescu, the referee of the match Petrolul – Argeș 2-1, made an incomprehensible decision at the end of the match in Ploiești. In the 86th minute, he canceled out Sierra's goal. Because Petrescu blew his whistle before the ball entered the net, the phase could not be analyzed by VAR

It was 1-1 in Ploiesti when FC Argeș had a lateral free kick. Micovschi took the set piece and the referee blew the whistle before Sierra sent the ball into the net.

The “Central” whistled for a foul, but on the replays shown by the televisions, no contact was observed between the players of the two teams in the box, before the midfielder of FC Argeș scored. Two minutes after the controversial decision, Petrolul scored for 2-1, through Andres Dumitrescu.
