Farul defeats Rapid, score 3-1. The people of Giulești fell to the 3rd place in the ranking

Farul Constanța defeated Rapid Bucharest with a score of 3-1, on Sunday evening, in Ovidiu, in a match from the 27th stage of the Football Super League, reports Agerpres.

Alexandru Ișfan ('19) opened the scoring for the hosts, after passing defender Alexandru Pașcanu. Andrei Borza ('40), former player of Constanta, equalized from Claudiu Petrila's cross.

Farul took the lead at halftime, thanks to Denis Alibec's goal ('45+5 – penalty), after goalkeeper Dejan Iliev fouled Gustavo Marins at a corner. The hosts scored one more time, after the break, through Ionuț Vînă ('53), with a shot from 17 meters.

Farul had a bar ('9), on Ișfan's shot. Alibec ('45) and Radaslavescu ('53) also missed big opportunities for Farul. Goalkeeper Rafael Munteanu stood out for Constantin Grameni's ('13) shot.

In min. 89, the game was stopped by the referee for discriminatory chants, the teams were called to midfield and Szabolcs Kovacs had a discussion with the captains. The match resumed after a two-minute break.

The beacon was coming after two failures in a row. Rapid has only one win in the last four stages, one draw and two defeats.

In the round, Rapid won 3-1.

Following this result, Farul climbed to 11th place in the standings, with 37 points, but Rapid dropped to 3rd place due to the goal difference, with 49 points, states DigiSport.ro.
