
Pancakes are a favorite dish of adults and children. On the eve of Maslenitsa, housewives bake these delicate lace products all day long to delight their family with their buttery taste. But is a whole mountain of pancakes needed in one day, since they are quite fatty and high-calorie products? On the website of Rospotrebnadzor (18+) they told how many pancakes you can eat in one day without harm to your health and figure.
Each classic pancake contains about 100 kcal. And this doesn’t count the filling or oil that was used to coat it. Nutritionist Elena Livantsova believes that One adult can eat only 2 or 3 pancakes without harming their figure. But not every day, but several times a week.
Gastroenterologist Vladimir Pilipenko adds that pancakes are harmful not only to your figure, but also to your health. Moreover, it is not the pancakes themselves or their fat that cause more harm, but the additives to them – sour cream, jam, marmalade. To make such pancakes less harmful, the expert urges you to monitor the volume of filling and not overeat.
Here are some recommendations from doctors on preparing and eating pancakes:
- when cooking, add less sugar and butter to the dough;
- replace wheat flour with whole grain flour;
- use honey, yogurt, low-fat sour cream, dried fruits, berries, vegetables and herbs as additives;
- Eat hot pancakes for breakfast, as in this case fats are better broken down.
If you follow expert advice, the harm from pancakes will be minimized.
