A modern self-propelled snow removal train has joined the fleet of Krasnian Railways track equipment (video)

A new snow removal train of the PSS-2P series has arrived at the Krasnoyarsk Railway.

It is undergoing testing in Krasnoyarsk, and after its completion it will go out to clean tracks on the Trans-Siberian section of the highway from Mariinsk to Taishet.

The special composition surpasses its predecessors in many respects. The main advantage is the increased capacity: up to 480 cubic meters can be loaded into four storage cars. snow. This is 2 times more than the snow removal trains currently used at the road test site.

In one hour, the new machine is capable of removing 1,400 cubic meters from the tracks. m. of precipitation – the loading volume is over 100 KAMAZ dump trucks.

The snow removal train includes a traction car with an engine, due to which it is self-propelled. The train is controlled from two cabins – head and tail, which allows you to quickly change the direction of movement.

The train is equipped with a domestic digital control system and a set of video cameras. They help railway workers see all work processes without leaving the cab and better control the quality of cleaning. In addition, working conditions for drivers have been significantly improved in PSS-2P. There is a relaxation room inside, creating conditions for comfortable long and long trips.

It should be noted that in the current winter season, over 70 snow removal and snow clearing machines are operating on Krasnaya Railway. It is expected that the new specialized composition will increase the effectiveness of combating heavy snowfalls in the conditions of the long Siberian winter.
