“Air defense units of the Ministry of Defense of Russia repelled a missile attack aimed at the territory of the Volgograd region”, wrote Botcharov on Telegram.

“A fire broke out following the fall of debris on the territory of a base of the Ministry of Defense near the village of Kotlouban”he added.

The governor stated that there were no civilian casualties, but the residents of the town will be evacuated “to protect the civilian population from the risk of detonation during firefighting”. The source of the attack was not mentioned.

In the context of the Russian bombing of Ukrainian territory for the past four years, Kiev regularly sends drones to Russia, targeting energy and military infrastructure. In the Tambov region, Governor Evgueni Pervichev recently reported a Ukrainian drone strike that damaged a military academy, affecting its students.
