The MTS digital ecosystem has introduced a function to alert family members about calls from scammers. Now subscribers in the Krasnoyarsk Territory will be able to receive notifications if fraudsters call the numbers of their relatives included in the general package of services.
According to the Defender service, in 2025, the “Safe Call” function, which warns the user about a conversation with a scammer using a voice notification, was triggered twice as often among children and pensioners as among other users. This indicates the targeted impact of attackers on the most vulnerable categories.
Attackers also take into account the daily routine of potential victims: the peak of calls to elderly people occurs on weekdays around 11:00, and children most often receive calls after 14:00, after school hours end.
“Our new solutionIt works as follows: the owner of a family subscription will receive notifications about any suspicious calls to loved ones and will be able to warn them. Thus, the owner will receive an SMS or push notification in real time about a possible fraudulent call, for example, to a child or an older relative,” said Sergey Yegoshin, director of MTS in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
He added that in 2025 alone, MTS blocked about 20 million unwanted calls to residents of the region, and the total duration of these calls was more than 12 million minutes – this is equivalent to 23 years of unnecessary and potentially dangerous conversations
