A serious road accident occurred on Tuesday morning on DN 24, in Iasi county. Two cars collided within the radius of Ciortești commune. A 45-year-old man lost his life and two other people were injured, including a pregnant woman.

According to the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations Iași, the intervention teams were alerted during the morning to intervene at the scene of the accident.
“This morning, the emergency crews were requested to act in the case of a road accident on DN 24, within the radius of Ciorteşti commune, in which two cars were involved. From the first information sent by the caller (firefighter from ISU Vaslui), as a result of the impact, three people were involved, one of whom remained incarcerated and had no vital signs“, ISU Iași transmitted, according to News.ro.
A 45-year-old man died
ISU representatives confirmed the death of a 45-year-old man, who was driving one of the cars involved in the accident.
A 40-year-old pregnant woman was also in the same car. She was conscious and not incarcerated.
“A pregnant woman, in the same car, conscious and not incarcerated, was medically assisted on the spot and taken over by the air rescue team (ESA), in order to be transported to a specialized medical unit. Other driver is aware, stable, being evaluated and taken over by a crew of the Iasi County Ambulance Service, with a doctor, for additional investigations and medical care”said the firemen.
The second driver involved in the accident is 36 years old.
On site, ISU crews ensure fire prevention measures and support the authorities in managing the operational situation. Road traffic is blocked in both directions, and the police continue their investigations to establish the exact causes of the accident.
