The Polish market is quite lucrative, accounting for nearly 4%. total revenues from broadcasting scam ads on social media platforms in Europe, however, it is behind Great Britain (11%), Germany (10%), France (10%) and Italy (8%), where the revenue stream from scam ads in 2025 was higher – also according to a study commissioned by Revolut.
Analysts also report that 1 in 10 ads displayed to European consumers on social media are fraud. In Poland it is slightly less, 6.6%. , but their share is growing – we read in the study.
More and more scams on social media
The analysis also states: that from 2022, revenues generated from scam advertising in Europe have increased rapidly from PLN 12 billion to PLN 18.7 billion, which is an increase of approximately 56%. in just 3 years (in Poland from PLN 459 million to PLN 725 million, i.e. by approximately 58%).
According to the authors of the analysis, the problem will only get worse. As we read, social media platforms will earn over PLN 43 billion from fraud advertising in Europe in 2030, and in Poland – PLN 1.6 billion.
In the same year, the number of views of “scam” ads on platforms will exceed 1.4 billion in Europe and 54 billion in Poland.
Juniper Research also reports that currently 24.5 million people use social media in Poland. In 2030, it is expected to be 27.2 million people. The Polish social media market is therefore one of the largest on the continent.
The authors of the report also believe that the financial benefits for social media owners from providing space for illegal content are much higher than the costs of fighting it (for example, through moderation).
