“Through the Apostolic Elemosineria (department of the Holy See, which deals with affairs of mercy on behalf of the Pope. – “GORDON”) Pope Leo XIV sent 80 electric generators to the country for the population suffering from the consequences of war and cold. Medicines (such as antibiotics and anti-inflammatories) and food products were also sent,” the statement said.
The Vatican noted that Leo XIV’s prayer for Ukraine on February 4 “turns into a concrete manifestation of solidarity.”
The generators, which traveled to Ukraine in three trucks, are supposed to help Ukrainians who are suffering “due to the consequences of war and difficulties caused by frost, in the context of the deliberate destruction of energy infrastructure.”
“The supplies that departed from Hagia Sophia in Rome have already arrived at their destinations in Fastiv and Kyiv, which were particularly hit by the latest shelling. In addition to generators, thousands of packages of medicines, dietary supplements and melatonin, which is in great demand because it helps improve sleep during this period of fear and constant stress, were sent to Ukraine,” the Vatican writes.
The Holy See also announced new supplies to Ukraine, in particular, antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, antihypertensive drugs and various types of food.
Representatives of the Pope did not mention that the war was being waged by the aggressor country, Russia.
